Scientist Communicators: Views from Members of Leading Scientific Societies

This presentation reports results from a series of 2015 surveys done in collaboration with the AAAS and other prodigious scientific societies on what scientists think about public engagement, including perceptions of the public, peers’ beliefs, and social media use. It will specifically address scientists’ communication goals and how our findings can apply to best practices for professional science communication trainers. Future research considerations for scientist surveys will be shared.
