Within the context of a developing economy housing is arguably the most important tangible asset for most families and also a significant contributor to the GDP through demand for materials, products and labor. The author draws from his humanitarian engineering and social entrepreneurship experiences in Africa to propose strategies through which the housing supply chain can be used to create sustainable value for developing communities.
