The complementarity of the various dark matter search techniques can reveal much information on its properties. This talk will provide a synthesis of the knowledge we will gain on the identification and characterization of dark matter over the next decade, whether it is observed or not, and what the next steps in our quest might be. She will present an overview of dark matter searches at the LHC and other accelerators, and will summarise the latest scientific results
