David Fischhoff, The Climate Corporation, St. Louis, MO
Fischhoff and his colleague at The Climate Corporation use very large amounts of data to generate short-term and longer-term weather models that are used to develop a variety of decision support tools for agriculture which are deployed to farmers via the web or through mobile apps. These tools range from those that use weather data and predictions directly to provide advice to farmers such as a "field workability" index, to those in which weather predictions are incorporated into more complex models such as prediction of plant growth and crop yield throughout the growing season, or recommendations for nitrogen fertilizer application rates.  He discusses the integration of measurement technologies to generate needed data with predictive modeling and the delivery of recommendations to farmers and directly to farming equipment.
