This talk will provide the view of a university administrator who uses the metrics generated by the scientometric and scientific publishing communities. The speaker will provide a realistic view of what university administrators need for their work, whether current approaches to measurement fulfill those needs, and how research administrators might work with the generators of metrics to improve the system from all perspectives.
