Smart Glasses and Telescopic Contact Lenses for Macular Degeneration

See-through wearable displays have great potential to aid serious vision problems such as age-related macular degeneration (AMD). But clunky and impractical displays are a major obstacle for adoption and social acceptance. We present prototype smart glasses for low or reduced vision that look like normal eyewear, and show the first-ever telescopic contact lens (soon entering clinical trials).
