		Privacy Enhancing Technologies and New Research Directions

		This talk will motivate and explain the need for improved privacy enhancing technologies (PETs), and give an overview of the technical field by discussing technologies such as differential privacy, secure multi-party computation, fully and partially homomorphic encryption, searchable encryption, k-anonymity and masking. It will discuss the strengths and shortcomings of these technologies in practical applications from security, utility and performance point of view. The talk will conclude by identifying open problems and technology gap in PETs as well as new directions to make them more adaptable.
