As human lifespans increase, we are coming to a world in which the average population is much older than ever in history. With advancing age comes increasing probability of developing age-related diseases, including notoriously difficult neurodegenerative diseases. This represents a deep personal cost to families as well as a financial cost to society as youth often bear the burden of providing care. Finding cures and prevention for these diseases will require creative and collaborative efforts.
