Spin Crossovers in Lower Mantle Minerals and Geophysical Consequences

Spin crossovers in lower mantle minerals have been discovered a decade ago. Only recently their consequences for mineral properties have been understood. This talk will review the major anomalies in mineral properties that accompany spin crossovers and their potential geophysical consequences.
