Information-Centric Networking has been offered as the next big thing to either augment or replace TCP/IP as the �narrow waist� of the Internet. In this talk David Oran explains some of the key aspects of the ICN approach and why it might, or might not, represent a disruptive force in the evolution of the Internet. We�ll examine some of the attractions and difficulties, and speculate in what application domains ICN has the best chance to displace today�s IP-based Internet applications.
