Surveying Scientists About Engagement 2012–2014

This presentation would report 2012, 2013, and 2014 surveys done in collaboration with the AAAS and other scientific societies on what scientists think about public engagement, including perceptions of the public, peers’ beliefs, and their own communication skills. It will address what scientists think about the potential impact and ethicality of different communication goals. The data will be used to challenge assumptions about what factors shape engagement practice.
