For a more comprehensive understanding of the history of anatomical study, we examine the skeletal remains of dissected and autopsied individuals from archaeological sites in the UK. Recently excavated burial grounds at hospitals, prisons and workhouses demonstrate how and on whom procedures were conducted, what instruments were used, and the disposal of bodies, revealing new information from the analysis of skeletal remains associated with anatomical study.
