On Being All Things to All People: Boundary Organizations and Scientists

Boundary Institutions facilitate and formalize intreactions between policy-makers and others, including scientists. Empirical data show a positive effect on knowledge utilization in such situations. Decision-makers also are more confident in the legitimacy, saliency, and credibility of the information provided. Active facilitation is key to briging the divergent interests of stakeholder groups
