Streamlining the Visa System for Scientists and Students

This talk will provide a perspective on how the State Department handles visa applications from foreign scientists as well as the issues and constraints it faces. It will discuss how the Department is responding to the challenges of the changing global environment for research and the conflicting demands placed on the visa and immigration system by various constituencies and interests.
