A spin-off of the University of Geneva in 2001, ID Quantique offers commercial quantum cryptography solutions and related quantum photonics technologies. These include technologies with industrial, commercial and research applications: photon counters, short-pulsed laser sources, and quantum random number generators. Despite the many challenges related to fostering a new industry, ID Quantique has commercialized QKD solutions and novel instrumentation now used in over 60 countries.
