Katie Watson, a bioethicist who is also an adjunct faculty member at the Second City Training Center, coined the term “medical improv” to describe a course she created and taught her students at Northwestern’s Feinberg School of Medicine for more than 10 years. Watson will share what she’s learned using this applied-arts training with medical students, and describe how her curriculum could be adapted to promote teamwork and creativity in the sciences.
