Since 2012, the Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) in the Executive Office of the President has been discussing graduate education modernization with Federal agencies and with academic institutions and organizations. OSTP has convened an informal discussion group to consider requirements, possible actions, and outcomes for graduate education modernization. This talk will share observations on emergent themes regarding graduate preparation for the 21st Century workforce, diverse career paths, mentorship opportunities, harmonization, and best practices.
