New Results on the Highest Energy Cosmic Rays

New data on showers in the atmosphere, and in deep water ice, created by the the highest energy particles reaching the earth from the distant cosmos, give clues to their origin and composition, and provide unique information about interactions that cannot be reached in even the most powerful particle accelerators.
