The Soil Atlas of Africa: Raising Awareness of a Neglected Resource

Soil is almost an ‘out of sight and out of mind’ subject. Increasing urbanization means that most people have lost contact with the vital life services provided by soil. As a result of a lack of public perception, soil protection is often not seen as a priority by policy makers. The Soil Atlas of Africa attempts to address this imbalance by raising awareness of the true value of soil across Africa.
