JOHN P. McGOVERN AWARD LECTURE IN THE BEHAVIORAL SCIENCES

Dr. Mischel’s research interests focus on personality structure, process, and development, and self regulation (also known as willpower). He is the recipient of numerous awards, including the Ludwig Wittgenstein Award, Doctor Philosophiae Honoris Causa at Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and Scientific Honoree of the Foundation of the Advancement of the Brain and Behavioral Sciences. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and member of the National Academy of Sciences. He has served as president of the Society for Personality and Social Psychology, the Association for Research in Personality, and the Association for Psychological Science and as editor of Psychological Review.
