Sunday, February 17, 2013: 9:30 AM-10:30 AM
Room 209 (Hynes Convention Center)
This session is the second in a series exploring opportunities for scientists and engineers to contribute to policy-making processes, the rewards of civic engagement, and transferable skills that can be developed and applied broadly to a successful career. This session delves into opportunities to contribute leadership and innovation to affect and implement evidence-based policy and initiatives that serve society in industry. It underscores the influence of science on the policy-making process and the impacts of policy-making on the scientific enterprise and provides strategies and resources to learn more about and engage in policy across career stages.
