Room 209 (Hynes Convention Center)
Think of your favorite teachers, most memorable presenters, and most engaging writers. One quality they likely share is their ability to tell a good story. For the scientist, too, effective storytelling is critical, whether you’re explaining your research to your friends, relating a scientific breakthrough to a reporter, or describing the impact of your research on The Daily Show. This workshop will present the basics of science storytelling for all audiences. Presenters will offer demonstrations and practical guidance for effective scientific communication through narratives, and audience members will be encouraged to think about their own experiences through the lens of storytelling. We all have a story about science. Learn to tell yours.
