Room 209 (Hynes Convention Center)
This is not a sit-in-your-seat, watch-a-screen, listen-to-advice type of session. Rather, after a brief overview demonstrating the basics, participants will engage in a structured sequence of partner and small group activities, with the goal of developing a succinct 90-second introduction to oneself and one's research, the skills to deliver the research in an engaging and personable manner, and the resources to tailor the presentation for a variety of audiences and situations. The intention is for each participant to depart with an effective self-introduction and new tools to begin practicing right away with colleagues, meeting attendees, potential employers, and journalists, in a variety of education, outreach, social, and online environments.
