Rachel Carson and Responsible Science Policy

Rachel Carson studied marine biology, became enchanted by the sea, worried about the impacts of human uses of pollution and poisoning of nature, and wrote persuasively about those impacts. Writing wasn't enough, however, and she took her case to Congress and the public with the goal of shaping wise policy about science.
