According to the CDC, Pb is the single most important environmental health problem affecting American children. Lead is toxic to the kidneys, the cardiovascular system, male and female reproductive systems, bones, and central and peripheral nervous systems. Lead raises blood pressure in adults and impairs cognitive and behavioral function, lowers IQ, and increases violent behavior in children.
