I examine how climate change science has been connected with climate change adaptation action and resilience planning in New York City. The City’s Panel on Climate Change has worked in close collaboration with City decision-makers. Through this action, critical linkages between the science and policy realms are defined. The paper discusses these linkages and associated challenges and opportunities. An overall model of city-based science panel-decision-maker interaction is presented.
