Molecular Evolution of Enzymes

Functional synthesis tests adaptive hypotheses at the molecular level. Comparative sequence analysis in dehydrogenases and α/β hydrolases identified mutations and sites retaining the putative signatures of selection. Molecular biology, biochemistry, biophysics and experimental evolution then tested these inferences.
