All efforts for international sustainability recognize the importance of bridging the science to policy gap. Scientific assessments- such as the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, the Millennium Ecosystem Assessment, and others- provide avenues to summarize the state of scientific knowledge. Yet, more avenues are needed to help policy-makers. Relating to the goals of Future Earth, this talk will discuss the successes and gaps of scientific research and assessments in supporting policy.
