Coverage of Extreme Weather/Climate Events in a Changing Media Landscape

Extreme weather has always been big news. Starting with Dan Rather's first live report in 1961 when Hurricane Carla hit Texas, weather can easily become the top story. I will take a look back at recent media coverage of extreme weather events with a focus on the larger climate context. I will also provide an overview of what Americans think about the connection between climate change and increasing weather extremes.
