Lecturing and Tutoring at the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS)

Friday, February 17, 2012: 12:45 PM-2:15 PM
Room 111-112 (VCC West Building)
The AIMS centers offer a postgraduate diploma course to African graduates in a world-class 24/7 learning environment. Each academic year, AIMS centers present new lecturing and tutoring opportunities. Lecturing for 3 weeks at an AIMS center is a different academic experience. AIMS students are always exceptionally eager. AIMS teaching assistants (young Ph.D.s/Ph.D. candidates) gain a great teaching experience — a chance to expand their professional network and to broaden their professional perspectives by working with renowned scientists, e.g., Fields medalists, from around the world. AIMS in South Africa, Senegal, and Ghana will be open in 2012, with more centers opening in the next few years.
