Saturday, February 18, 2012: 3:30 PM-5:00 PM
Room 111-112 (VCC West Building)
This is not a “sit-in-your-seat, watch-a-screen, listen-to-advice” session. Rather, participants will actively engage in a developmental sequence of partner and small group exercises, with the goal of developing an engaging 90-second introduction to themselves and their research; the skills to deliver it in an engaging and personable manner; and the ability to tailor it for a variety of audiences and situations. The intention is for each participant to exit this session with a useful tool in their pocket, which they can immediately pull out, practice, and put to work with conference participants, in job interviews, with media contacts, and in education outreach and public engagement settings.
