Dr. David Layzell will offer insights into the critical need for a systems-level approach to hydraulic fracturing in shale gas development that takes into account global population growth, continued energy supply, and concerns about how energy production and use effects the planet’s water, land, air and climate. Dr. Layzell also will discuss methods of overcoming obstacles in the way of building consensus among policymakers and other stakeholders in achieving a more sustainable energy future.
