Researchers have developed a suite of modeling techniques for predicting single species distributions under current climate. However, modeling future climate change impacts on communities is in its infancy because complex biotic and climatic processes govern community composition and distribution. In order to make robust predictions, model types, assumptions, and uncertainties need to be addressed. Finally, model results need to be appropriately translated to application and decision-making.
