Patrick Halpin , Duke University, Durham, NC
Prof. Halpin is Director of the Duke Geospatial Ecology Program, and builds on lessons from the Census of Marine Life, the Ocean Biogeographic Information System, and the Global Ocean Biodiversity Initiative, and will focus on identification of Ecologically or Biologically Significant Areas (EBSA) in the pelagic zone in Areas Beyond National Jurisdiction (ABNJ). He will focus on new methods for identifying and prioritizing dynamic areas for ocean protection under current and changing climates.
