The Perspective from Japan: Rising Panic and Common Sense

As a nuclear physicist working in Japan during the crisis, I had a unique perspective of how Japanese policymakers, media, health authorities and the public reacted to the perceived nuclear threat. I shall talk about how mass panic was largely avoided, and put the media coverage in Japan in a global context.
