6094 Science Excellence Gaps in the United States

The recently released 2009 NAEP Science data provide evidence of growing excellence gaps by race/ethnicity and gender. The paper will present these data and also share analyses of the relationship between excellence gaps in science and state-level policy variables, such as education funding, science teacher certification policies, and other relevant variables.
