Can the world feed 9 billion people?   That’s a question many scientists, business leaders and policy makers are asking today.  But in a world that can’t even feed 7 billion today, and completely fails to produce food in an environmentally sustainable manner, we’ll have to ask even tougher questions.

In this presentation, I will review the state of today's global food security, and the twin challenges we face to feed a growing population while making global agriculture sustainable.  I will outline a 5-point strategy that will help us double global food production, while simultaneously cutting greenhouse gas emissions, water consumption, water and air pollution and biodiversity losses.
