Some of our best science communicators, from Isaac Asimov to Neil deGrasse Tyson, have frequently used humor without compromising their mission of communicating science and inspiring people of all ages. In this workshop, sponsored by the National Science Foundation, science comedian Brian Malow will entertain and lead a discussion on the use of humor in science communication. You will be introduced to fundamental comedy techniques, devices, and styles. Learn the importance of metaphors and analogies, passion and exaggeration, gestures and vocal variation, all tools to help you increase engagement with a general audience.
