The workshop will offer scientists and students the opportunity to learn about emerging issues on research integrity. Topic covered include what universities, professional societies, journals, and the government are saying and doing about there issues, and where participants can obtain guidance and resources on best practices and ethical norms. The integrity of research, from concerns about conflict of interest to those about the social responsibilities of scientists, is under greater public scrutiny than ever before. The organization of research is changing through globalization and expanded security restrictions, and so is the nature of public demands for access and accountability. This workshop will give participants both conceptual and practical tools for navigating their way through this rapidly changing environment. It is partially funded by the Office of Inspector General at the National Science Foundation and the U.S. Office of Research Integrity. Pre-registration is required.
