CERN's Head of International Relations will open the symposium with an introduction to the Large Hadron Collider project and the global collaboration of scientists, engineers, students and technicians that built and operate it and are searching for discoveries from its high-energy collisions. She will also conclude the symposium, summarizing how the four major experiments at the Large Hadron Collider contribute together to advancing our understanding of the physical universe.
