Getting medicines to people using public clinics in remote rural settings faces many challenges. As funding for HIV/AIDS Malaria and TB treatment and prevention increases, there are more medicines available. To improve delivery of these medicines requires a complex management solution. Using best practice from the private sector we have applied tools that optimize the distribution and storage of medicines to improve the efficiency and reduce the cost of public health supply chain networks in developing countries. We have applied a mathematical programming approach using LLamasoft's Supply Chain Guru to help identify supply chain improvements in Kenya, the Dominican Republic, Lesotho, Malawi and Guatemala.
