The world’s capture fisheries will increasingly need to manage for the uncertainty created by climate-related shocks. Grafton will examine the economic impacts of climate change on marine capture fisheries and present model results of management approaches that build resilience in both social and ecological systems. Novel findings are that specific management strategies can reduce both overfishing and the time it takes ecosystems to recover from shocks, creating ‘win-win’ scenarios for climate change adaptation.
