Much of the research on bilingual acquisition begins with children or adults who are learning a second language. Yet, many infants from all around the world learn two or more languages from birth, and master each of these languages at the same rate as a monolingual child acquires a single language. In this talk I will review recent research detailing recent findings showing how bilingual infants begin the process of learning about, and acquiring, two languages simultaneously.
