This presentation will explain the reality of Protected Area (PA) Managers particularly in developing countries, where they are challenged to monitor large areas with few staff, making it difficult. In these countries, satellite images are particularly valuable for identifying the extent of illegal activities and activities at the PA borders. In developed countries, satellite images start to generate maps of health and status indicators, helping PA managers in their job.
