Both the U.S. President and Congress recognize the important role that science plays in policy-making. The political agenda is dominated by a broad range of high priority science issues, such as climate change, nuclear nonproliferation, and energy security, that impact the research community. Now more than ever, scientists and engineers need to be more effective in their interactions with lawmakers, and improved communication is a key step toward improving the policy-making process. This workshop will provide scientists with the necessary tools to successfully engage in a dialogue with policy-makers.
