A Comparative Evaluation of Participatory Scenario Studies

Reviewing the requirements of science-society collaborations spelled out in the literature, we have developed a criteria-based framework to analyze and evaluate participatory scenario studies in the field of sustainability science. We present the evaluation of six recent participatory scenario studies, shedding light on the current ‘state of the art' in scenario studies, i.e. how they comply with criteria derived from theory as well as with objectives set by the research teams.
