The United States Military Academy is a four year federal service academy located at West Point, New York. West Point’s mission is to provide leaders of character for the United States Army, and students (called cadets) are commissioned as second lieutenants upon graduation. All cadets complete an academic program that includes significant components of mathematics, science, and engineering. Research by faculty, by cadets, or by groups of both is performed across our academic disciplines, and much of that work is focused on problems and challenges facing the Department of Defense. This presentation will describe some research by faculty and cadets that applies math, science, and engineering principles to counterterrorism.
