This presentation will focus on findings from the national evaluation of the Historically Black Colleges and Universities Undergraduate Program funded by the National Science Foundation. After a brief discussion of the research design—including quasi-experimental and qualitative methods—the presentation will focus on (1) key findings related to the strategies pursued to enhance the education and retention of students in STEM, (2) models identified through the evaluation, and (3) how these contribute to the development and diversification of the STEM workforce.
