To develop non-invasive approaches to investigate, interpret, visualize and valorize complex archaeological sites, the speakers selected the site of Ammaia, a deserted Roman town in Portugal, as an “open laboratory” for intensive field research. Highlighting the role of landscape archaeology, archaeological survey, historical aerial photography, and Roman town planning in this innovative approach, Dr Corsi will introduce the audience to the lost city of Ammaia.
