This paper will introduce the Leopold Leadership Program network and focus on using the approaches and technologies of geographic information science to tell "stories" about important connections among scientists (e.g., within the Leopold Program), their messages, audiences and ultimately stories about the world. Combining the new medium of "intelligent Web maps" with text, multimedia content, and intuitive user experiences has a great potential to inform, educate, entertain, and inspire decision-makers about a wide variety of environmental issues.
